Mean is the average, median is the middle value, and mode is the most frequent value. Use median when outliers distort the mean.
Probability intuition
Probability ranges from 0 to 1. Independent events multiply. Mutually exclusive events cannot happen together, so you add their probabilities when asking for either/or.
